COVID-19 Gymnasium Protocols for Basketball (Fairmont site)
The following protocols have been developed based on the most recent information from the NSAA, local DHM’s and the CDC. All guidelines are subject to change without notice.
Capacity
Based on the current DHM’s, we will be able to use 50% of our gym capacity. Taking into consideration where each school will sit, we will be able to allow 4 patrons per athlete for FC and 4 patrons per athlete for the visiting school. The bleachers will be marked to help with social distancing.
The visiting school will submit the names of not more than 4 guests per athlete by 10 a.m. of the day of the contest.
The home school will be allowed to have up to 4 patrons per athlete. The BB team(s) will submit a pass list.
PPE
As per NSAA guidelines, the following items will be in place:
Participants are permitted, but not required, to wear face coverings during competition.
Coaches and non-active participants are required to wear face coverings at all times.
Spectators are required to wear face coverings at all times while attending indoor events.
Entrance and Exit Strategies & Occupancy
All fans may enter through the south entrance (M-1) or north entrance (M-9). Fillmore Central fans will occupy the north bleachers and visiting fans will occupy the south bleachers.
Restrooms & Concessions
There is only one set of restrooms at the middle school, so our recommendation is that everyone wears a mask.
There will be no concession stand for middle school contest in Fairmont. All water fountains will be locked, however, bottle filling stations will be accessible.
Postgame
Spectators will not be allowed on the gym floor after the game.
Spectators are asked to leave promptly after the conclusion of the game, and are politely asked to not congregate indoors.
Athletes will not be allowed to come and visit with family or friends after the game.
