Twenty Fillmore Central business students attended the American Business
Competition Day at the University of Nebraska held on Friday, February 8. Over 12
schools of various sizes were in attendance. The day began with greetings from Phi
Beta Lambda organizers and a representative from the College of Business
Administration. The morning consisted of each student participating in two
different events. The Fillmore Central group also toured the new College of
Business Administration.
For the third year in a row, the Fillmore Central quiz bowl team handily won the
Division 2 award. This year’s team consisted of Senior Braden Myers, Junior Trevor
Meyer, and Sophomore Wyatt Nun. Wyatt Nun also submitted a picture to the ABC
photo contest which was selected as winning the FC group a reduced registration
next year.
At the awards ceremony, several students received recognition including: Trevor
Meyer, first place in Accounting I; Braden Myers receiving first place in Both
Accounting II and Parliamentary Procedure; Tori Stoldorf receiving second place in
Personal Finance; Wyatt Nun receiving second place in FBLA Principles and
Procedures and fifth in Parliamentary Procedure, and Koby Head, fifth in Accounting
I.
